Well actually I don't think he is. He & Cameron keeps telling us that they are pumping more and more £bns into the NHS every year. Councils only waste the £bns they raise in rates anyway.

"I am not saying they can spend like Labour did those days are over, but they are just cutting back after cutting back, and taking too much from the people who are working hard but going nowhere."

You do realise that our present government is still spending about £100bn more than we earn every year don't you? He should really cut more off the expenditure...

You miss the point entirely Mike.

I was making the simple point that socialism is like putting the workers in charge of the factory.

It's a simile to portray a recipe for disaster. Not to start a discussion on worker/management communication!

To be honest, that's where someone like me makes shed loads of money.

It shouldn't be the case as a company should have adequate management skills on board to exploit all such options, but someone, somewhere decided keeping that ability doesn't cost in, so people like me bowl up and skim a living.

In general, working for a company means, first and foremost, covering your own arse, and then, only if there's no threat to your position, looking to improve things.

People then wonder why the economy stagnates/shrinks.

one thing this does point out, is our politicians whether they are Labour or Tory have no say on the economy fucking up

We are a small island in Northern Europe, whose influence is declining every decade

A posh person works out which is good or bad. They implement them. Then a bright person comes along and points out the error of their ways.

Re: Osbornomics
Mike Ox. In that line of work you're probably correct, and many of their ideas may have merit, but how many of those workers make suggestions without any concept of the cost implications of their ideas and how they might impact on the profitability of the business?

HairyHammer 2:43 Fri Jan 8
Re: Osbornomics
The economy is not in that bad shape, he just needs to squeeze the poor and Middle classes a touch more. When they won the election everything was super what has happened within a few months to change everything?.
Yes Osbourne is getting down to business and 85% of the population has to pay for the wheels to turn.
Working harder for less its not the 80's where people could climb up with hard work and a touch of luck, it is all about survival, and how do you sell boring survival to the masses well you claim that you have to tighten spending and cut back as the world is in melt down and its all looking bleak even when that is not the case you simply create economic jargon none of us understand.
I am not saying they can spend like Labour did those days are over, but they are just cutting back after cutting back, and taking too much from the people who are working hard but going nowhere.

The article doesn't match the reality of an economy which has the largest growth rates in Europe and the joint largest or second largest growth of any major economy ( it depends on what survey you use to compare us with the USA).

I'd rather have a chancellor who is looking for risks to the economy and warning of risks than one who says they've abolished boom and bust.

People actually "doing the job" often know far better how to do it better, if it can be bettered.

If I'm on a process improvement contract, I make a beeline for the "lowly" workers and get first hand from them any issues or ideas - much to the consternation, and sometimes outright disgust, of those claiming to be managing the business.

A company is a team and every position in that team deserves the respect of every other - even if the occupant of that position is a complete arse.

It goes equally tits up when cultural snobbery stops you from listening to what the workers have to say.
